Workshops at Ledbury Artplace

Indian Book Shrine with Angie £85
My mixed media book 'Cloth Stitch Paper and Paint' should be out soon and this is an adaptation of one of the projects from it. Using a book as a base you will learn how to cut apertures, make doors and dangly things using mixed media stitch techniques. Indian architecture and colour will be the inspiration.

Winifred Cottage Sales Evening at Ledbury Artplace
6pm 9pm
Everyone will know Myfanwy and Jock from the textile shows. Their stand is always fascinating, and Myfanwy has a vast knowledge of her materials and how to use them, You will also be able to get a copy of her book 'The Embellisher Lets Get Started'.

Fri 16th May
The Embellisher. Let's Move On! With Myfanwy Hart * NEW* £48
Bring your own Embellisher (e.g. Baby Lock) and we will provide the inspiration. This course will investigate a number of possibilities to create a variety of textures and effects using a selection of materials. This course is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. If you don't have a machine but would like to try one out there are a limited number for hire. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.

Treasure Trove With Jeanette * NEW* £48
Sunken and buried treasures, ancient and precious….
We'll create old artefacts and treasures by embossing self dry clays. Bring a small (ornate maybe?) frame with its backing glass optional. While the clay is drying we'll prepare the frame and decorate the background. Metallic paints, or stone like mediums will change the surface of the treasures to be glued into frame.

Precious Mica Amulets with Angie £45
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that can be split into thin glass like sheets. It has an aged cracked quality that enhances the surface well when trapping collage pieces between it. We will be experimenting with mica to make intriguing neckpieces.

Fri 30th May
Microwave Dyeing with Annette Morgan * NEW* £48
Learn how to use dyes in the microwave - you'll create some sumptuous colours in an amazingly short time. We'll also look at how to use this technique in your work.

My book, ‘Stitch Cloth Paper and Paint’ I am assured will be published in September so I expect to have a big party for that, it’s nearly 2 years since I was asked to do it, it takes ages this publishing lark.
