Mixing Medias
Experiment with texture, using tissue, lace, scrim, texture gel, gesso and machine embroidery. Apply colour using acrylics, dyes and bronze
powder. A great day for design ideas and development.
Text in Textiles
Using Angie's extensive collection of letterblocks, woodblocks, foam blocks and rubberstamps, have fun trying different ways of printing onto paper and fabric. Experiment with acrylics and bronze powders.
Exploring Velvet
The properties of velvet are quite astonishing, this workshop will explore the shadow effects achieved with dyes, inks and bleaching back in addition to transfoils and bronze powders.
Bedazzling Bowls

During research for new ideas (with your help workshop goers) I have discovered the delights of 'Altered Books'. Visiting the most amazing American websites I have gathered enough information to give you 2 and a bit days worth of exciting collage and stitch. You need an old book and lots of courage to muck it up!!
Bejewelled Bags 2 days
Taking pattern from artists such as Klimt and Hundertwasser, we will design a little bag with velvet, foils, silks and organza, enhancing the design with machine embroidery.
Textural Bookwraps 2 days
These little bookwraps are constructed using woven strips of printed fabrics. Learn how to transfer text onto fabrics, using letter blocks, photocopies and typewritten lettering. Layered with transparent organza and machine embroidered the surface of the wrap has a heavily textured quality. Finish off with handmade beads and other closure ideas.
Celtic Connections 2 days
This class takes inspiration from a wealth of design ideas in celtic art. It offers the opportunity to try hand and machine embroidery alongside paper and fabric collage and finished off with mixed media techniques.
